Fieldwork delayed due to oil release at Krik #80 oil production well.

Report of findings from the perimeter air monitoring submitted to the DTSC. The results showed that the Ascon Landfill Site is not significantly impacting air quality.

DTSC conditionally approved the Groundwater Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study Workplan.

New groundwater wells were installed per the Groundwater Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study Workplan.

DTSC gives Ascon Landfill Site Responsible Parties the option to perform additional testing at the site in order to obtain more data needed to complete the EIR, and to evaluate additional remedial alternatives and approaches to implementing the remedy.

Submitted the Pilot Study No. 3 Workplan to the DTSC.

Final round of perimeter air samples were collected per the DTSC approved Perimeter Air Sampling Workplan.

A tidal study was performed to determine potential groundwater influence due to the change in tides.


April 2003


The RPs entered into contract with PCR Services to perform the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). DTSC approved Perimeter Air Sampling Report Workplan. First round of sampling was conducted in May 2003.


January 2003


The RPs entered into a Consent Order with DTSC to prepare a Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study for groundwater, complete the Remedial Action Plan (RAP) for soil/waste and a RAP for groundwater, prepare California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents (e.g., Environmental Impact Report ["EIR"]) and perform remedial design and implementation of the remedial actions approved in each RAP.
